Description

The 6G73 uses a 24-valve SOHC design, with two valves running from a single cam lobe on the exhaust valve, using a fork rocker arm, and each intake valve is driven by two cam lobes, with a larger bore than the 3.0-liter version of the same cylinder smaller. Bore and stroke are 83.5 mm × 76 mm (3.29 in × 2.99 in); it is a 60-degree V6 engine and weighs approximately 155 kg (342 lb). The engine features a low-profile, cast-aluminum cylinder head that helps it fit into a compact engine bay, while sloped-roof combustion chambers increase efficiency and make room for four valves per cylinder, arranged in a cross-flow pattern. Features “tumble” air intake for powerful breathing and low emissions. The spark plug is located in the center of the combustion chamber. The intake valve diameter is 33 mm (1.30 in) and the exhaust valve diameter is 29 mm (1.14 in). The SOHC 24-valve version of the 6G72 uses the same cylinder head. Use toothed timing belt. The 6G73 has an output of 163 PS (120 kW; 161 hp) at 5,900 rpm and a torque of 221 N·m (163 lb·ft) at 4,350 rpm.
