Description

Mu V6 (G6EA) This includes CVVT, conversion of mechanical bucket lifters and almost identical cylinder heads. The Mu is a 60-degree six-cylinder engine with an all-aluminum block and head. It features DOHC with 4 valves per cylinder, variable intake system (VIS), variable length intake runners (VLM) and multiport fuel injection (MPi).

A CVVT called camshaft adjustment was added on the intake side, enabling it to produce 188 PS (138 kW; 185 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 25.2 kg m (247 N m; 182 lb m) and 25.2 kg·m (247 N·m; 182 lb·m) ft) of torque at 4,000. Mu utilizes a timing belt to drive the exhaust cams on each set of the engine, and the intake cam sprockets are driven by a chain. The CVVT mechanism in the Mu varies the intake cam timing relative to the fixed exhaust cam timing.

Exhaust cams (dual CVVT) were added, enabling it to develop torque at 6,000 rpm and 25.4 kg m (249 N m; 184 lb⋅ft) at 6,000 rpm and 25.4 kg m (249 lb⋅ft) at 4,500 rpm 200 PS (147 kW; 197 hp) in N m; 184 lb) ⋅ ft) of torque at 4,500 rpm.
