The new generation of Subaru Forester is equipped with a new 2.0L engine code-named FB20. The maximum power and peak torque are 145 horsepower and 188 Nm, respectively, and the maximum power and peak torque of the electric motor are 13 horsepower and 65 Nm respectively. The transmission system continues to match CVT continuously variable transmission, and equipped with Symmetrical AWD full-time four-wheel drive system. The compression ratio has been increased from the previous 10.5:1 to 12.5:1, and the flow characteristics of the intake fluid have also been changed for better fuel economy and efficiency.
