Original new Mitsubishi 4G64 5MT engine assembly

The 4G64 is a very popular engine in China and is still used in the Changfeng Cheetah, a range of cars based on the Mitsubishi Pajero V20 from 2002 to 2021, and the Southeast Delica based on the Mitsubishi Delica van from 1996 to 2013.

Description

The 4G64 is the second largest model, displacing 2,351 cc (2.4 L). Early models were 8-valve SOHC, but later 16-valve SOHC and DOHC versions were also produced. All using MPFI, bore and travel are 86.5 mm × 100 mm (3.41 in × 3.94 in). The 4G64 later also introduced a gasoline direct injection engine. The Mitsubishi L200’s output varies from 155 hp (116 kW; 157 PS) at 5,250 rpm, 163 lb·ft (221 N·m) of torque at 4,000 rpm, and 152 hp (113 N·m) at 5,500 rpm. kW; 154 PS). Chrysler Sebring/Stratus has lb·ft (221 N·m) of torque at 4,000 rpm. The Chrysler version features fracture-split forged powder metal connecting rods.
